About IDH Solutions and Me

Hi! I am Ben Tortora, and ever since I can remember I have wanted to own my own web design studio. Back in high school we always used to joke that we would get all our coder and designer buddies together, come up with the next million dollar startup in our garage and have millions of dollars. Somehow life got in the way of that dream.

But I never gave up on the web dev and have been studying and coding ever since finishing high school in 2002. After that I enrolled in Macquarie University and chose the E-Business degree, because I wasn’t smart enough to do pure Comp Science. Turns out though it worked to my advantage, because it allowed me to start IDH Solutions, and run my own freelancing business for a little while, picking up odd jobs here and there inbetween a tech support job and uni studies.

Graduated in 2008 with my degree and freelancing proved to be time consuming, so I decided to outsource my skills to other established companies.

At the moment I am contracted by an Search Engine Optimisation company based in Sydney: E-Web Marketing Pty Ltd and been there for a while and really enjoying learning about something I never knew existed until starting and all the guys and girls that make up the team.

IDH Solutions Pty Ltd though primarily remains a web development firm, specialising in custom Wordpress themes, and other web based apps, projects and startups. This is what we do best, and any of the projects that I can make publicly available to the community I will. The open source community has helped me so much, its the least I can do to repay in kind.

Lastly: I am forever being reminded how nerdy it is to be a Mac Fan Boy. Well lets just say I like the ads and enjoy crash free computing.
